Ayahuasca Ceremonies

The ritual of ayahuasca ceremonies is an ancient practice that has traditionally been performed by shamans in South America for many thousands of years. The ayahuasca ceremony is a powerful spiritual experience that opens the participant to a greater awareness of the essence of oneself in this realm.

Silvia Polivoy, one of the founders of Spirit Vine center, started her pilgrimage in 1996 in the Peruvian Amazon learning about ayahuasca with shamans. Until 2004 she lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she was working in psychotherapy until a life changing move to the Atlantic forest in Bahia, Brazil where she now conducts monthly spiritual retreats.

From her experiences, Silvia has developed a unique style of ayahuasca ritual that is deep, safe, comfortable and supportive. Silvia believes that the spirit of ayahuasca is the true teacher and the ceremonies at Spirit Vine are designed to optimize the ability of participants to relax deeply into their experience, connecting directly to source.

The Ayahuasca Ceremonies at Spirit Vine

The ayahuasca ceremonies at Spirit Vine are held at night in the beautiful, purpose built ceremony room inside the jungle and beside a stunning lagoon. Outside the ceremony room, the symphony of sounds from the frogs, animals and insects at night is the perfect backdrop to a night of spiritual discovery.

Music is carefully chosen for the iowaska ceremony that supports, triggers and guides the participant in their spiritual journey with Ayahuasca. Music can often be a powerful medium for spiritual awakening and the music played at Spirit Vine are sublime soundscapes that allow the mind to expand into endless space where visions and feelings of cosmic awareness flow as rivers of consciousness. The Spirit Vine center is a trans-denominational space that is designed to allow the participants to optimize their own inner spiritual processes and development through self reflection and integration. Silvia will work individually with each participant before and during the retreats to ensure they are ready and feel safe in the ayahuasca experience. During the retreats the group process is very important and regular sharing circles are an intrinsic part of the reflective experience, which often lead to deeper understandings.

The Ayahuasca Tea

At the retreat center we grow our own ayahuasca vine and chacruna plants and the iowaska tea or ayahuasca brew is made here on the land with much loving care and attention. The Spirit Vine center is devoted to ayahuasca and the spirit of the plant permeates through the land to all parts of the center.

Please note that we have several programs on offer during retreats. For those who are taking medicines that are incompatible with the ingestion of ayahuasca, they can still participate in all the other activities.

Don’t waste time, book SPIRITVINE

If you’re reading this, you’ve seen the website. You’ve had the calling and.. believe the 5 star reviews; I was suspicious of them but once you step foot on the retreat,even before you do so,you understand why they are 5 star rated. Beautiful bungalows in an Atlantic forest setting. A serene oasis and sanctuary, the perfect setting for this kind of retreat. Silvia’s seemingly infinite knowledge of all things, enables you to let go, feeling very safe whilst you fully immerse yourself. Her workshops are invaluable and enormously helpful when integrated into the ceremonies. You work at your own pace,everyone is different, yet you are there with like-minded people. The sharing circles too were eye opening both for my own experiences and truly humbling to listen to fellow participants. I opted for 11 days and I watched people transform into their true authentic selves literally hour by hour, quite astonishing. Ti0 too.. a Saintly Guardian, who seems to be in all places all at once. He was there whatever your need and whenever you needed him. They both have a refreshing sense of humour too which for me was essential when doing such deep work. I loved the opportunity to do Art which is not obligatory. Gentle yoga and fantastic massages are a bonus. The food was on another level,given the fact no salt is used, three meals a day, the variety was great and most if not all of the food was from the surrounding land. The chef is phenomenal. There is a gentle Western approach, yet you are ensconced in the perfect environment. Whether you partake in the plant medicine or not, I cannot recommend this place highly enough for a truly transformational retreat. I would also take heed of their advice and not travel home for at least a week if your work permits. I’ve given 10 stars because 5 aren’t enough.
